About our chief instructor
| William Beaver, a black belt in kajukenbo, under Bob
Maschmeier and Joe Halbuna, has lived in Kuwait since 1992. He also holds black
belts in tae kwon do and shotokan karate. | |
| His students have included members of the Kuwait Ministry of Interior SWAT team,
Kuwait Airways Sky Marshals, as well as members of the Amiri Guard VIP Protection Unit,
bodyguards for state visitors and some of Kuwait's ruling family. | |
| From 1990-92, William worked as the editor of Karate/Kung
Fu Illustrated, as well as associate editor for sister magazines
Black Belt and Martial Arts Training. | |
| He earned a Master of Arts degree in philosophy from Miami
University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from Ashland
University, where he returned briefly as adjunct professor, teaching courses which
included Applied Ethics: International Terrorism. | |
| William received an honorary discharge as a sergeant in the United States Army after serving on both active duty and in the reserves from 1978-86. |
